Interbellum (2012-2016)

The Interbellum (in between wars) is a period marked with uncertainty. Trauma is relived through the persistence of the memory of war while coexisting with anxiety about the next war. Frlan uses steel, a material pivotal to the mechanization of twentieth century warfare, to symbolically convey the physical and emotional impact of war on known and unknown individual lives.
